Growing up in Brisbane, Australia James was born with a passion for Rugby Union. James spent 12 years travelling the world as a professional Rugby Union Player, 8 of which spent living in Europe and competing in the Champions Cup, Nations Cup, Guiness Pro 14 and European Sevens competitions. James learned from some of the best coaches worldwide, through his years of high level training and experience on the field, he soon realised the refined art of the Strength & Conditioning that is required to build world wide athletes and coaches. At 32 years of age, Matt Poole is the oldest competitor to take to the surf in the 2020/21 Nutri-Grain Series. But this seasoned IronMan veteran still has a thing or two to teach his younger competitors. Poole is entering his 14th year as a professional IronMan and is still finishing on top, having taken out first place in Round 2 of the 2019/20 Nutri-Grain Series and standing on the final podium in third overall. Poole has seven race wins next to his name, and was the 2016/2017 IronMan Champion.
